According to Bleeding Cool, DC has announced that they will be bringing back the Justice Society of America into the DC Universe. The news from DC New 52 panel at Fan Expo Canada is that the creative team of James Robinson and Nicola Scott will be providing their take on the WWII based superhero team. Along with the news of their return comes a bit of shocking news – The JSA’s adventures take place on Earth 2!
Ok, I know that DC’s “soft reboot” is essentially changing what we know about the superheroes that everyone knows, but this move brings them back to a pre-Crisis on Infinite Earths scenario. If DC is willing to have ONE parallel universe, what’s to stop them from making a few more down the road?
It’s very premature to even guess what their plans are in this respect, but I thought DC was trying to make their universe EASIER to understand, not create more timelines. James Robinson on JSA is something I look forward to seeing, don’t get me wrong, but it just seems odd that DC chooses to go down this road.
