NBC rejects ‘Wonder Woman’ TV Series Pilot

Wonder Woman Adrianne Palicki takes chargeAccording to Entertainment Weekly, NBC has passed on the Wonder Woman pilot by David E. Kelley and Warner Bros. TV. NBC isn’t saying why they passed on the show but it’s been revealed the pilot earned mixed reviews at test screenings.

As scriptwriter, Kelley updated the classic Wonder Woman story and had Diana Prince as CEO of a major conglomerate and had a fleet of planes at her disposal. There was also controversy about her costume early on in the production, something the wardrobe department went back and later changed.

It remains to be seen what will happen now; will it just fold up or will it get shopped around to other networks? And what does this mean for future comic book TV series.

  1. I’ve heard that the story is just awful. Maybe David E. Kelley wasn’t the right person to write the script and should have let someone else do it.

If it doesn’t get picked up, I wonder if a copy will get leaked onto the internet or available through iTunes. In 2006 Aquaman was never picked up, but became a top download on iTunes. http://bit.ly/lsg5co
