To celebrate our 2nd anniversary, we’re starting a new feature this month!
Every few weeks we will select a cosplayer and run a featured profile on their work. There are many talented models and performers who bring their love & enthusiasm to dressing up as their favorite characters. We would like to showcase that talent.
This year the Baltimore Comic-Con was held on September 8-9, 2012 at the Baltimore Convention Center. As always, what would a Comic-Con be without the awesome cosplayers that attend?
Not being fortunate enough to attend the festivities this year, we’ve gathered together some great cosplay images taken at the Con from around the web. On May 19th & 20th, The Midwest Comic Book Association will hold their annual SpringCon in the Grandstand at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. As usual, there will be hundreds of guests to meet, plenty of dealers selling great items, several panels to attend, and cosplayers galore!
This year, we at Comic Book Critic will be attending SpringCon and will have information and photos from the show to share with you.
WonderCon 2012 was held in Anaheim, CA this past weekend and, as usual, attracted a wide variety of costumed fans. Since we weren’t able to take part in the festivities, we’ve gathered some of the best, coolest, most unusual, and sometimes unorthodox cosplayer photos, and present them for your viewing pleasure.
It’s that time of year again when the sun feels just a little warmer, the days are longer, and the cosplayers begin to show up. Yep, it’s the start of the comic book convention season!
This past weekend Orlando, Florida hosted their annual MegaCon and, as usual, there was a strong showing of cosplayers in attendance. We’ve culled several sites for images and brought you a sampling of what we found.
Even though there are hundreds, if not thousands, of sexy costumes for women to wear to Halloween or costume parties, there are always male-to-female conversions of superhero costumes. Sometimes they look decent, but more often than not, they are just a flimsy interpretation of the original.
We at Comic Book Critic looked around for a few examples and found some rather interesting ones. Here’s what we discovered!
This year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show featured Superheroes as one of their themes. Scantily clad women in super heroine inspired costumes strutted down the runway while being ogled by sung to by Kanye West and the guy from Maroon 5. They all wore much more fabric than Starfire does, though.
The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show was taped and will air on CBS on Tuesday, November 29th, 2011 (10-11PM EST) for those of you who’d like to see more “superheroes” in action.

The long stretch of large Comic Cons runs mainly through the late spring and summer, but there’s never a shortage of smaller Conventions throughout the year. Any convention wouldn’t be worth its salt without a large contingent of cosplayers, and the Long Beach Comic Con 2011 had its fair share. LBCC ‘11 also had the added bonus of being held on Halloween weekend.
