Brand-new titles, miniseries featuring fan-favorite characters, new Artist’s Editions, new television deals, and a first-of-its-kind exclusive creator deal rounded out the action-packed weekend.

IDW has secured the amazing talents of Locke & Key co-creator Gabriel Rodriguez by signing him to an exclusive deal. His work has appeared in IDW comics since the very beginning, and will continue to do so exclusively, with his next project being the hotly anticipated Little Nemo: Return to Slumberland with Eisner Award-winning writer, Eric Shanower.

IDW To Produce Two Deluxe Books Of Artist’s Classic Works

 

Great news emerged today from New York Comic Con 2013IDW Publishing is planning on releasing not ONE, but TWO Marvel Artist’s Editions by the great Jim Steranko!

The first book, Steranko Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. Artist’s Edition, due to be released in May 2014, will feature Steranko’s Nick Fury run on Strange Tales from issue #151 through #162 and measure 15” x 22”.

The second book, Steranko Nick Fury and Captain America Artist’s Edition, which does not currently have a release date, will feature Nick Fury stories from Strange Tales 163-168, Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D #1, 3, & 5, and 3 issues of Captain America. This book will measure 12” x 17”.

These are near-exact reproductions of the original art by Jim Steranko in their original size.

IDW Publishing and Cartoon Books are pleased to announce Jeff Smith’s Bone Artist’s Edition, to be released this fall and featuring one of Smith’s most beloved stories: The Great Cow Race! Featuring Fone, Smiley and Phoney bone, Gran’ma Ben, the radiant Thorn, and, of course, those stupid, stupid Rat Creatures!

Joe Kubert’s Tarzan of the Apes: Artist’s Edition Press release

Joe Kubert’s Tarzan of the Apes: Artist’s Edition is scheduled to be in comic book stores the last week of September. Collecting the entire four-part origin story of Tarzan, as well as two single part adventures, all adapted by Joe Kubert from the classic Edgar Rice Burroughs stories.

Additionally, a signed, numbered, and remarqued version will be released in October and is only available through IDW Publishing. Limited to 181 copies, and each with a unique head sketch of Tarzan by Joe Kubert, IDW will donate $50.00 from each copy sold of this special edition to a scholarship fund in Joe’s name established at the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon Art.
