DC Entertainment is rebranding and doing a line-wide relaunch of their critically-acclaimed Vertigo imprint on its 25th anniversary. Seven new titles have been announced for late 2018 / early 2019, with the first – Border Town – being released in October.

Blockbuster team of Mark Waid and Fiona Staples to reimagine iconic characters

 

In celebration of their 75th anniversary, Archie Comics have announced big plans for their flagship title and one of the longest running comic series in history – Archie is getting an origin story!

Archie #1 will feature the first ever Archie Andrews origin story by the acclaimed creative duo of writer Mark Waid and artist Fiona Staples in 2015.

Along with the Archie origin, Marc Eckō will create a line of Archie themed apparel, “Riverdale,” a one hour drama will air on FOX TV, and many other surprises will be unveiled throughout the year.

New Post-Flashpoint Superman Titles Announced by DC

Today, DC announced the Superman related titles they’re relaunching in September. This is their final wave of announcements that started back on May 31st, 2011 – and by ‘final’ I mean ‘just the start!’ 

DC still has a lot of talent, exclusive or otherwise, that has been unaccounted for in their initial relaunch announcements. These core titles will be the bread and butter of DC’s push, but just wait a little while and we’ll get news of all the peripheral titles that they’ll be publishing as well. We’ll see what DC has up their creative sleeve with those books. I’m holding out hope for a Keith Giffen / Robert Loren Fleming Ambush Bug title! *crosses fingers*
