News & Speculation For ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’

CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR finally came out last week, and with it we finally got our first look at Tom Holland’s Peter Parker. With the studio aiming to develop a more youthful interpretation of Parker, Holland fits the bill perfectly, as he’s a good deal younger than either Tobey Maguire or Andrew Garfield were when taking on the part. And most reviews agree that in addition to being a youthful fit, Holland did quite well in his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

How You Can Gain Access To NYCC 2013

How YOU can gain access to NY Comic Con

NYCC 2013 logo

If you’re a fan of comic books, super-heroes and comic-based movies and TV shows, you’ve probably heard of Comic Con, or thought about attending. There are a wide variety of small comic con events that take place across the country each year, but New York Comic Con (NYCC) is one of the biggest. In 2013 the event is being held October 10-13 at the Javits Center in New York City.

NYCC has always been a popular event, and has continued to grow more popular with each year. Though this is great news for Comic Con, it means that if you want to attend you’ll have to be on your game to gain access. October may seem like a while away, but in order to gain access the basic way as a ticket holder, you’ll have to stay alert for when tickets go on sale.

H’EL ON EARTH: An Essay On DC’s Super Crossover

Keeping Up With the Kryptonians:
A Family Reunion?

H'el on Earth crossover promo

I have cable TV. I grew up with cable TV. I watch too much cable TV. And if you watch cable TV like I watch cable TV, you know that some of the better movie channels go through cycles of playing the same shit over and over for weeks on end. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the eyes and ears is the same serving of Meryl Streep sullenly walking through the West Village of New York, or Bruce Willis breaking through glass windows in bare feet bellowing “yippee ka-yay”. Sure I like sitting down for a good film viewing with a bowl of popcorn and some Red Vines, but many times I watch the same movie over a matter of weeks, while getting ready for work, or maybe during the 15 minutes before the Daily Show comes on. It’s the way of our cable subscribing, ADD world.

I know it’s not “cool” to admit, even in the comic book community, but Superman is my favorite superhero. Yea. That’s right. You read that right. Better than Batman, Cap, Wolverine (or any of the X-Men for that matter), and even Spider-Man. Although, Spidey does run a pretty close second.

Issues like this really get me excited. Wait… not in that looking at girls in bikinis kind of way (my apologies to all my bikini wearing girl readers. I didn’t mean to creep you out or anything just then. I promise not to stare at you. I swear!). I mean, excited that there’s some really cool stuff up and coming. And because there’s so much to talk about, I’m splitting this would be “one and done” article into two parts. First the comics, then products. Sound good? Then away we go…
